Bomb targets Police van near Hazarganji Sabzi Mandi in Quetta, no casualties reported

QUETTA, Oct 23 (INP):  A remote-controlled bomb

exploded near Hazarganji Sabzi Mandi in Quetta on

Monday morning, however, no loss of life has been

reported in the incident.

 

The explosion targeted  a police van which was entering

the market.  Several policemen were wounded in the

explosion as police vehicle also was badly damaged in

the incident while windows of nearby building were

shattered due to the blast.

 

Following the explosion, the security cordon has been

put in place in the entire area. The bomb disposal

squad also reached the site.

 

Officials of law enforcement agencies and bomb disposal

squad reached the site of the blast and launched a

search operation.

 

According to Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials, one

and a half kilograms of explosives were used in the

remote-controlled bomb.

 

The incident occurred five days after a suicide bomber

rammed a car into a police truck on the outskirts of

the city of Quetta, killing five police officials and

two passers-by. Twenty two others were injured in the

incident.
