Blackout halts NZ, BD T20 tie

Kolkata—A floodlight failure brought a halt to the match between New Zealand and Bangladesh at cricket’s World Twenty20 Saturday as the Black Caps closed in on victory at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
Umpires Michael Gough and Johan Cloete led the teams off the field with Bangladesh precariously placed at 45 for six after 11 overs as they chased a consolation victory in the tourna-ment.
New Zealand had earlier made 145 for eight in their 20 overs. It was not immediately clear when the match would be able to resume. New Zealand have already qualifed for the semi-finals while Bangladesh have no chance of progressing further.—AFP
