Biometric system to be installed to monitor attendance of students in schools

Karachi—Senior Sindh Minister for Education and Parliamentary Affairs, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that biometrics system would be installed to monitor enrollments and attendance of students in schools in the province.
He said this while replying to questions asked in writing and verbally by members during answers and questions session on the floor of Sindh Assembly on Tuesday.
“The schools Adoption Policy has been introduced to improve the schools management system in the province, “ he said.
It is desire of Sindh government to have university in Hyderabad, he said and added that there are three universities about 10 kilometers away from Hyderabad city including University of Sindh, Liaquat Medical and Health Sciences University and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology at Jamshoro.
Sindh government was reviewing the proposal of upgrading Kali Mori College at Hyderabad to degree awarding institution, he said.
In Larkana division, 69 schools were upgraded to elementary and middle schools respectively from 2008 to 2012, while 41 middle schools have been given status of high schools during the same period, he said.
The upgradation of status of schools was made on the basis of need, he said. During the period 2009-10, 357 schools have been adopted by 12 individuals and 65 organizations respectively, Khuhro added.—APP
