Billions being spent on clean drinking water

Lahore—State-of-the-art water filtration plants worth millions of rupees are being installed on the instructions of the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to provide safe drinking water to communities in rural and peri-urban areas across the province.
As many as 80 water filtration plants will become functional benefiting over 250,000residents of the priority tehsils of Minchanabad (District Bahawalnagar), Lodhran (District Lodhran), Hasilpur (District Bahawalpur) and Khanpur (District Rahimyar Khan) very soon. Mr. Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, CEO of the Punjab Saaf Pani Company said that the Chief Minister Punjab is determined to serve the people of the province. Provision of safe drinking water is bound to reduce the health expenditures of the benefiting communities while they would live a healthy life.
