Bilawal grieved over loss of life in KP floods

Karachi—Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed deep grief and sorrow over tragic losses of life and properties in torrential rains followed by heavy floods, lightning, and land sliding in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Gilgit and parts of Azad Kashmir and asked the rulers to expedite the rescue and relief operations.
According to media reports, death toll of the recent torrential rains coupled with high floods and landslides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) has reportedly crossed 140, around two dozen people continued to be trapped under the tons of clay in Kohistan district where an avalanche hit a village on Monday burring more than three dozen people alive.
In a press statement, PPP Chairman asked the Federal and provincial governments and local authorities to activate their rescue facilities and save those still lying under the landslides and marooned in the midst of flooded areas, he stressed.
Bilawal Bhutto urged the PPP leaders and workers of the affected areas to personally participate and look after the rescue and relief operations and extend all out help to the victims of natural calamity.
He also asked the Federal and Provincial governments to chalk-out adequate compensation plan for the victims of recent torrential rains and floods for rehabilitation of the victims in the affected areas.
