A ten-member delegation of Bhutan on Monday visited Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Information Technology University (ITU).
The delegation was led by Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh Sonam T Rabgye.The delegation comprised of officials from Bhutan Ministry of Home,culture Affairs and Monks body. During the visit, the delegation was thoroughly briefed about various initiatives taken by PITB. Director Academics at Information Technology University (ITU),Farzana Shahid also briefed the delegation about the university.
Ambassador Sonam T Rabgye speaking on the occasion said, “It is a great pleasure being in Pakistan”,adding that they visited Swat Valley and sacred Buddhist sites.He said he was happy to visit Lahore, a thriving and dynamic city.
Sonam T Rabgye said,”In Bhutan we are trying to enhance the use of IT to improve quality of life for the people”. He appreciated the initiatives started by PITB and ITU for the growth of IT.
