Best medical treatment in city hospitals to be ensured: Salman

Lahore—Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Khawaja Salman Rafique has stressed the need to adopt comprehensive strategy to make functional the city hospital on modern lines for the sake of ensuring best facilities to the masses. He was chairing a meeting along with Commissioner Lahore Division, Abdullah Khan Sumbal, regarding status of all new hospitals in Lahore here on Monday.
He said that just functionality of OPD was nothing, efforts must be put to make functional OT also. He said the problem of shortage of anaesthesia specialists must be resolved. Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal said that consultation with private sector regarding out sourcing of THQ hospital Raiwind had been positive and many private groups had visited THQ Raiwind to run it under Public Private Partnership mode.
He said that outsourcing of THQ would also bring many bright lines to upgrade the standards of health facilities in other government hospitals. Meeting was informed that some hospitals among all new hospitals were running their operation theatre successfully but a few hospitals were in the process of completion regarding finishing and staff hiring.
The meeting also reviewed development work of new hospitals of Lahore including 130-bed facility hospital Mian Mir, 60-bed THQ Raiwind, 60-bed THQ level hospital Sabzazar, 20-bed Ghaziabad, 25-bed Samanabad, 20-bed Sodiwal, extension of Gynae department in Swami Nagar Eye hospital, 100-bed Manawan and 60-bed hospital Kahna Nau.—APP
