Islamabad—Roots Millennium Schools collaborated with the Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 to establish Community Rescue Service through Training Sessions on Basic Life Support and Fire Safety.
The Orientation Session along with a two day training programme was held at all campuses of Roots Millennium Schools nationwide. In this training hundreds of teachers and Management staff underwent hands-on training in Basic Life Support and Fire Safety as Rescue 1122 trainers imparted training to teachers of Roots Millennium Schools from all over Punjab.
The teachers have been trained in Basic Life Support, Fire Safety, Rescue Techniques, Emergency Evacuation and Effective Emergency and Disaster preparedness and prevention. The Millennial teachers and Management staff were taught about basic life support skills including cardio pulmonary resuscitation, fracture and wound management, foreign body airway obstruction, management for angina pectoris and myocardial infarction as first responder, management for electric shock, burn and snake bite victims.
The leadership of Roots Millennium Schools is committed to joining hands with Rescue 1122 Punjab to build socially responsible and active teams throughout Roots Millennium Schools nationwide.
The trained teachers shall be enrolled as Rescue “Mohafiz” and shall be meaningfully engaged in Community Rescue Service for developing disaster resistant communities in Pakistan. Furthermore, these Recue Mohafiz shall conduct trainings in their respective campuses and educate students thus sharing their learning on the importance of basic life support (BLS) and fire safety.
Chief Executive Roots Millennium Schools & TMUC, Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq and Roots Millennium Schools Director Schools & Outreach Mrs. Sabina Zakir together with the Director General Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Dr. Rizwan Naseer Sitara-e-Imtiaz agreed upon a mutual commitment to build active CERT teams in all campuses of Roots Millennium Schools Rawalpindi, Islamabad and nationwide.
