Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Basharat Raja Tuesday visited Central Jail Adiala and planted a sapling in the lawn of the jail under ongoing “Plant for Pakistan” drive.
A smartly turned out contingent presented the guard of honour to the Minister.
On the occasion, Basharat said plantation of trees and their preservation was charity, adding plantation of trees purify the environment, which helps to reduce pollution.
Raja also visited the Langar-khana and Public Call Office set up for the prisoners and expressed satisfaction over all arrangements within the jail, especially the security arrangements.
Later, a memorable shield was presented to the Minister by the superintendent Jail Saad ullah Gondal.
Commissioner Capt (Retd) Saif Anwar, GM Gas company Muhammad Zahoor and others officials were also present on the occasion.—APP
