Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Chaudhry Barjis Tahir Friday said that Pakistan will continue political, diplomatic and moral supporting the freedom struggle of Kashmiri people in Jammu and Kashmir against Indian occupation and atrocities.
‘You are not alone in this struggle. The whole Pakistani Nation is behind you in this noble cause and will do utmost efforts for your success,’ Tahir said while addressing a big gathering here organized to observe October 27 as black day, as on this day in 1947, Indian armed forces entered Kashmir and since then were committing atrocities on people.
The black day was observed across the Line of Control (LOC) with renewal of the pledge to continue freedom movement till the achievement of right to self determination to people of Indian held Kashmir. Rallies, seminars and public meeting were held in all the major towns of AJK to condemn Indian occupation. The major Function was organized at Muzaffarabad under the auspices of Kashmir Liberation Cell participated by the people of all walks of life and was addressed by Federal Minister Ch. Berjis Tahir, Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan and others.
Federal Minister in his address said that the success of the liberation struggle was evident from the fact that all political and religious parties of Indian Occupied Kashmir and Azad Kashmir were unanimous on a single point of right to self determination.
He said Pakistan was incomplete without Kashmir and founder of Pakistan Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had rightly said that Kashmir was jugular vein of Pakistan. ‘We are aware of the geopolitical significance of Kashmir for Pakistan and could never even think of its separation,’ the minister added.He condemned unprovoked shelling and firing on LoC by Indian army and said his government will use all resources for rehabilitation of the population who were affected due to firing and shelling on LoC by Indian force.
The minister said every Pakistani government and political party had been supporting Kashmir’s freedom struggle for the last 70 years and his party head Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had forcefully raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in United Nations as Prime Minister of Pakistan.
He disclosed that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was tried to keep mum on the issue saying that US administration will not talk to him if he raises the issue in UN but he kept away all these pressures and raised the issue in a befitting manner.
‘We have made clear over the international community that there could be no peace in South Asia unless the Kashmir issue is not resolved,’ the minister remarked adding that the policy of Nawaz Sharif on Kashmir will continue to prevail.
‘Following the footprints of Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also raised issue in UN general Assembly this year and made it clear to international community that resolution of the issue was linked with the peace and security in the region,’ he added. He said he was here to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir on this critical juncture of their struggle as a representative of Pakistan and assures every sort of help and cooperation for the success of their struggle.
He said beside supporting the cause of Kashmir, development of AJK was the priority of his government which was evident from the fact that the development budget of the region was increased by hundred percent from Rs 11 billion to 22 billion and the region would be development at par with the other parts of the country.
