The Department of Management Sciences of Bahria University Karachi Campus organized a two-day international conference, said a statement here on Friday.
The theme of the moot which concluded here Thursday was “Small to Medium Enterprises- a sources of socio-economic development: Prospects and challenges”. The organizers said that its three dimensional focus was on small to medium enterprises, Pakistan’s economy as well as prospects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
They said that the conference was held under the overall umbrella of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan.
It provided a forum for the researchers and business practitioners to discuss researched-information on prospects and challenges associated with the SMEs operation in Pakistan in relation to other countries in the world.
It also served as international forum to the universities, corporate world and the society for mutually dilating on SMEs with reference to Pakistan and within its folds CPEC.
Scholars from around the world expressed their view at the conference. Chairman Pakistan Stock Exchange, Muneer Kamal, president of Habib Metropolitan Bank, Sirajuddin Aziz, and subject experts from international universities like Valparaiso and George Mason, LUMS, Karachi University Business School participated in various sessions of the moot.
