Baba Ladla Group Death Squad leader among 50 arrested

Karachi—Police on Wednesday arrested Lyari gang war group Baba Ladla’s Death Squad in-charge Qari Qasim along with two accomplices from Sehwan Sharif in a targeted operation.
According to police sources, the suspect was wanted on charges of murder of Rangers and police officials and extortion. He and his accomplices were transferred to Karachi for interrogation.
During investigation the accused revealed the spot where weapons were hided after which the police recovered huge cache of weapons including hand grenades and bullets in Gul Mohammad Lane of Lyari area.
Police and Rangers also carried out a joint operation at the Jahangir Road in Baloch Para area of Karachi and apprehended at least 30 suspects. The law enforcement agencies sealed all the entry and exit points in Baloch Para area and carried out house-to-house search during which 30 suspects were taken into custody.
Police sources said that arms and drugs were revered from the arrested persons. According to SP Tahir Noorani, the arrested suspects were shifted to police station for further investigation.
Separately, police also arrested five accused after police encounters in PIB Colony, Korangi and Defence areas. According the SSP South, the arrested persons were involved in more than 70 cases of street crimes.
Police also nabbed 18 suspects during a search operation in Saeedabad area of Baldia in Karachi. The suspects are being interrogated for involvement in various crimes.
In Defence area a suspect wanted for two murders and over 60 robberies was arrested in injured condition after encounter with police.
