Mohali—A Massive Protest demonstration was held at 82 sector in Mohali against the “brutal” assault on Kashmiri youth Sanjay Singh Thakur and his mates, all resident of Jammu Kashmir, were thrashed by the four accused, including both the sons of landlord of a house, in which they (the victims) had been residing as paying guest at Chilla village in sector 81 Mohali.
Scores of Kashmiri youths led by the prominent leader of National Students Union of India (NSUI) Prakash Singh Dadwal assembled at sector 82 in Mohali, they raised the slogan against the Punjab Government and its administration for playing dirty tricks with J&K youths.
Prakash Singh Dadwal while chanted on the occasion claimed that every time innocent J&K youths were being harassed and no one in the Punjab administration utters a word or any action against the culprits.
Dadwal added “According to the Police, that they have registered the complaint FIR No 0066 of 2016 on 16th of March and assured that a continuous raids were going on, but the accused was seen with a bottle of Alcohol “Royal Stag” at 22nd of March at his native village and threats that all the efforts are in vain. Accused were celebrating parties in their house but the police said continuous raids were going on. That puts a question on the administration, who assures for the safety and security of Kashmiri youths. If really, the Punjab Govt. is serious then declared them as absconding criminal”
Sanjay Singh the main victim of the assault said “Police as well as hospital management is not cooperating and always harassed me in illogical manners. I am in fear of the reports for being forged as when I asked them to handover me the reports and I will treat myself with proper treatment as no one cares me at there, they denied of giving reports to me and they repeatedly tries to harassed me by illogical manner, hospital management is discharging me on wrongly written date of 17th march and forced me to sign in fake date to weaken the case but the fact is that I am still in hospital and demanded to discharge me in correct date”.
Dadwal reminded that even after, DGP JK Police K Rajindra discussed with SSP Mohali regarding the issue, at that time SSP assured for fair justice. Also, Ghulam Nabi Azad Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha has written a letter to Punjab Government Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal regarding the issue, but after lapses of time no action has been taken against them yet.
JK youths demanded to take stern and immediate action against the accused and officials who involve in it through agencies like CBI and Vigilance, as they have not faith at the previous one, otherwise, the centre and the Punjab government will be responsible for any consequences.—KW
