Asif reposes complete trust in SC over Panama case

Islamabad—Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has expressed complete trust in Supreme Court over Panama Papers case. Talking to media outside Supreme Court here Tuesday, he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has presented himself for accountability at every forum including Parliament and Judiciary.
To a question, he said it is for the Supreme Court to decide about credibility of the evidence presented by the parties. Khawaja Saad Rafiq who was also present on the occasion said the proceedings on Panama Papers case are moving forward.
Unfortunately our opponents are doing politics of lies and allegations, he said. They are creating hurdles in the way of development of the country, he added. He said PML(N) government will continue to work for the development and prosperity of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Meanwhile, Member of the National Assembly beloning to Pakistan Muslim League (N) Talal Chaudhary on Tuesday said that all the evidences filed by Paksitan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) before the Supreme Court in Pamama case were irrelevant.
Talking to media after the hearing of the Panama case, Talal said, ‘Courts take decisions on the basis of solid evidences and not over the old clipping of newspapers.’
He said that Imran Khan had already faced defeat in cases regarding alleged irregularities in general election 2013 and now he would face the same in Panama case. ‘Journalism is a sacred profession but some of journalists are taking advantage of current situation to fulfill their own agendas,’ he remarked.
Meanwhile, Senior vice president of PML(N) from PK-11, Abdul Munaf Khan has said that those who raised the slogan to bring change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wasted more than three precious years in dharna politics and gave nothing to its people in the province. In his statement here on Tuesday, Munaf further said the negative politics and policies of Pakistan Tehrik- e- Insaf have badly affected the socio-economic state of the province.
He said confrontation with Centre and indulging in blame games by PTI has served nothing but affected education, health, employment and energy sectors in province. —APP
