Syed Asif Hyder Shah, a BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been transferred and appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Sindh, effective immediately. In accordance with the official notification, Syed Asif Hyder Shah, who was previously serving as Secretary of the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division, will assume the role of Chief Secretary, replacing the incumbent Dr. Fakhre Alam. Dr. Fakhre Alam, the outgoing Chief Secretary, has been directed to report to the Establishment
Division. Asif Hyder Shah, a civil engineer by profession, entered the civil service of Pakistan in 1993. Throughout his career, he has held various key positions, including Commissioner of Hyderabad and Karachi, Special Secretary of the Cabinet Division, Federal Secretary for Culture, and Secretary of the Power Division.
Additionally, Asif Hyder Shah holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi., along with a master’s degree from Howard University, and has completed fellowships at Howard and Stanford universities.
