Rawalpindi—Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif on Saturday said that Pakistan army was ready to respond to any conventional attack as it was the most experienced in the world in any kind of warfare. According to Inter-Services Public Relations, Army Chief visited Sulemanki sector on Saturday. He said that Pakistan army had kept its tradition of bravery alive with pride. Gen Raheel Sharif said that the army had made extraordinary achievements in the war against terror.
Gen Raheel spent his day meeting the soldiers and war veterans of Pakistan army and Rangers. He said that Pakistan Army proudly carries its heritage and tradition of soldiering and chivalry. Taking inspiration from our war heroes and their spirit of sacrifice, Pakistan Army has always measured up to any challenge, he said. Gen Raheel said, “With an unprecedented level of successes in war against terror, we have become the most battle hardened Army and are equally ready for conventional war.” He specially appreciated the highest state of morale of troops and best form of vigilance along LOC, working boundary and international border.
The Chief of Army Staff laid a floral wreath at the monument of Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed. He paid rich tributes to the Shuhada and Ghazis for fighting bravely and rendering supreme sacrifices in defence of the motherland.
Earlier, on arrival at Sulemanki, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Lahore, Lt-Gen Sadiq Ali, Lt-Gen Javaid Iqbal, Commander Bahawalpur Corps and DG Punjab Rangers, Maj Gen Umer Farooq Burki.
