Staff Reporter

Islamabad—Police are still clueless about the suspects who shot dead an army officer over resistance during a daylight robbery in Islamabad’s I-8 Sector on Thursday.
Zeeshan Qamar, a Pakistan Army Major, was in his house along with his wife and child when three armed suspects entered his house at around 4:45pm on Thursday, sources said. The officer grabbed and took hold of the one who had entered first but the other two suspects shot at Qamar before fleeing from the scene.
The officer was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) but died of the bullet injury to his chest. Police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons.
Industrial Area SHO inspector said on Friday that police were investigating the case but had not found any clue yet. He said a post-mortem examination of the body was carried out at Pims but the medical report was still awaited.
The victim’s funeral prayers were held in the federal capital on Friday. He will be laid to rest in his hometown of Nawabshah in Sindh.
