Argentine celebrates 65th Anniversary of diplomatic relations with Pakistan

Islamabad—The Argentine embassy organized a music programme at a local hotel on Monday night to mark celebration of 65th anniversary of its diplomatic relations with Pakistan. Popular Pakistani artists performed at the function. They mainly sang poetry of prominent Sufis of Pakistan. The singers enthralled the audience who profusely enjoyed the presentations. The audience included people of all age groups belonging to various segments of society including diplomats and youth.
The Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatimi was the guest of honor at the function. In his brief remarks, he said, music is wonderful source of hormonising international relations. He was happy to note that the Argentine embassy had begun celebration of 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Pakistan with a function of music. He expressed the hope that the cordial relations between two countries will continue growing to mutual benefit.
Ambassador Ivan Ivanissevich of Argentine said, Pakistan and his country enjoy close and cordial relations. The two countries are cooperating in various fields. There are vast possibilities of greater cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He traced historical history Pakistan Argentine relations. He recalled that his country gave all out diplomatic support to Pakistan during the fateful events of 1971 which had culminated in a war between Pakistan and India. Argentine fully supported Pakistan’s stance over the 1971 crisis in the UN Security Council. Pakistan has always remembered this support and expressed reciprocal support to his country. Argentine Park in Islamabad symbolizes Pakistan Argentine friendship. He said, he would like to join hands with CDA in its renovation and making it full of beautiful trees as well as flower and green beds.
The Ambassador, thanking the guests, said that, Argentine greatly values its relations with Pakistan and wants to further strengthen the bilateral relationship. He said, people of Argentine are fond of Sufi poetry of Pakistan and they enjoy Sufi songs.
