The first of its kind in Pakistan, International standard Astro Turf would be laid at Government Waqar un Nisa college for women, said Chairman Sports committee Punjab Hanif Abassi here Monday. Inaugurating ‘Arfa Kareem Science Block” in the college, he said the block has been completed at a cost of Rs 150 million.
“Our aim is to develop educational institutions and to equip colleges with latest equipment, this is part of our endeavor to make the city best education city in the province,” he added.
Abassi said the Punjab government was determined to make grounds of international standard where state of the art facilities were available under one roof and took a number of steps to revamp sports, sanitation, education. transport and health facilities.
The state of the art Urology and kidney center would be completed soon, he added.
On the demand of college administration ,Abassi announced that New tube well would be installed in the college costing Rs 63 lacs.
On the occasion, special tribute was paid to Captain Arsalan Satti who was martyred in a terrorist attack. Principal Dr Saira Mufti and Director Colleges Malik Asghar also spoke on the occasion.
