ARC delegation visits UAF

Faisalabad—A 14-member delegation of Asia Regional Course (ARC) on breeding and other techniques for the development of heat-tolerant cotton mutants visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) here on Wednesday.
Talking to the delegation, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said adaptive measures were prerequisite to sustain cotton productivity in the context of climate change.
He said that setback to cotton production last year had caused loss worth billions of rupees to the national economy. He said the University had introduced new variety of cotton named Punjab 896 which was heat tolerant.—APP
