A special prayer ceremony was held in Islamabad on Friday for those who embraced martyrdom in APS tragedy in 2014.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb said the sacrifices of students of APS brought the entire nation on one platform to fight against the menace of terror.
She said the political leadership sank their differences and formulated National Action Plan to get rid of the menace of terrorism and extremism.
The Minister of State said there has been significant achievement on all the twenty points of the National Action Plan. Federal and Provincial Governments in close coordination with the armed forces took tangible measures against terror including strengthening of border management, blocking of fake SIMs, cancellation of fake national identity cards and passports and action against hate speeches and literature.
Maryam Aurangzeb, however, said the journey is difficult and the nation will have to maintain its unity to take the war against terror to the logical conclusion.
Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said the tragedy of APS gave a new turn to the history as an indiscriminate operation was initiated against terrorists.
He said sacrifices of children have contributed immensely towards safeguarding future of the country and the nation.
