Karachi—The government has accorded approval for raising a 2,500 strong information technology cadre force.
This was informed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, during a visit to the Central Command and Control Centre.
This Centre has been established at the Central Police Office (CPO) here.
A spokesman of the Sindh Police pointed out that the IT Cadre Force would consist of the personnel from Crime Record Office (CRO) of CIA Police, Forensic, Madadgar 15, CCTV cameras and those from the human resource.
He said that during the visit, the IGP Sindh was briefed about the IT Software training and its need and application on professional matters.
The IGP directed that comprehensive recommendations be prepared for approval for sharing with IGPs of other provinces the criminals record and particulars of the inmates of the jails as well as those accused who have been granted bail. He was of the view that such a sharing of the criminals record would enable the arrest of proclaimed offenders and absconders in any of the provinces.
A.D. Khawaja asked the Sindh police to work hard in order to fully benefit from the IT training which is also the need of the hour to learn about the new techniques and methods used by the accused for the commissioning of the crimes. —APP
