Anti-polio campaign to be held in Karachi from April 18-22

Karachi—A fresh round of anti-polio campaign amidst stern security arrangements will commence on April 18 to 22, with the target to administer anti-polio drops to over 2.2 million children.
This was informed in a meeting held to review the arrangements and progress of anti-polio campaign at the Emergency Operation Centre for anti-polio here on Wednesday, said a statement.
Commissioner Karachi, Syed Asif Haider Shah while chairing the meeting reviewed the efforts and measures taken to achieve the desired targets of anti-polio campaign.
All deputy commissioners, town health officers and officials of police, Rangers, health department as well as representatives of UNICEF and other organization attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that all necessary arrangements have been made to make strict security arrangements during the campaign.
It was told that the Micro plan has also been updated while the meeting reviewed and approved the suggestions pertaining to effective implementation of the Micro Plan.
The Commissioner directed the officials concerned that all concerned department should work in coordination and ensure implementation of the Micro Plan.
Meanwhile, an anti-polio helpline 1299 has been set up in the office of the Commissioner Karachi, which may be informed regarding not covering any area by the anti-polio workers. The anti-polio helpline will be operational round the clock, the meeting was informed.—APP
