Anti-encroachmet drive to be expanded in entire city: Mayor

Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said forceful Anti Encroachment Operation would continue without fear and favour, and it would be expanded to other areas of the city.
The ongoing Anti Encroachment Drive was aimed at restoration of beauty and grace of the city, Mayor expressed these view while chairing a meeting to review ongoing Anti Encroachment Drive in the city. The mayor was told that on Thursday in an early morning Anti Encroachment Drive on Jinnah Avenue, teams of Enforcement Directorate with heavy machinery and assistance of local police removed encroachments from large buildings.
The operation resulted in removal of encroachments in front of NICL Building used for car parking and removal of barriers from front of United Bank Limited building. The operation razed to ground and confiscated self made security fence in front of green tower building and illegal security cabin and barriers in front of OGDCL building.
Similarly, encroachment around HBL building including iron chains and barriers were also removed. The operation on Jinnah Avenue targeted encroachments around Centaurs Mall and removed encroachments including illegal fences and guard posts. The mayor said notices for voluntarily removal of encroachments from buildings around the city within three days were being served to avoid imminent vigorous anti encroachment drive.
