Awami National Party (ANP) former Nazim was among at least three people gunned down during a wedding party over a property dispute in the provincial metropolis on Monday. Police said a verbal brawl led to a bloody incident in Nothia area Peshawar Saddar where guests were gathered at a wedding function when they exchanged harsh words and resorted to firing.
‘Two groups took place over ongoing property dispute resulting in death of at least three persons on the spot in Nothia locality of Peshawar. The rescue service officials said adding the bodies were moved to a nearby hospital for autopsy. Awami National Party’s (ANP) former Naib Nazim Sher Ali was also killed in the firing incident along with his brother and friend during exchange of fire with his neighbor as the shootout between the charged parties also led to serious injuries to a passerby.
The function was arranged in connection with the wedding festivities of Sher Ali’s nephews who were set to get married on November 25. Police said raids for the arrest of the assailants, who fled the scene, were being conducted yet they continue to be at large.
