ANF’s crackdown against drug traffickers continues

Islamabad—More than 30 operations across the country have resulted in seizure of huge cache of hashish weighing 3.5 tons and arrest of 31 persons including drug suppliers to educational institutions.
Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in these operations confiscated five vehicles and seized 450 grams Heroin and 5.8 kg Opium.
As per operations details here on Sunday, ANF Lahore received information through its intelligence wing regarding smuggling of huge drug consignment and on pursuance of information, ANF team established a road check.
During the course of surveillance, a Truck (Mercedes Benz) was intercepted near Haroon Bus Stand, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore. Search of the truck led to seizure of 3500 Kg Hashish, which is the biggest ever drug catch in Punjab.
Hashish was concealed inside the concrete mixer machine fixed on 10 wheeler truck. A driver of the truck Khurshid Khan, resident of Landi Kotel was arrested at the spot.
In other operations, ANF Lahore recovered 250 Gram from possession an accused namely Hammad Ali, resident of Lahore, who was arrested from Mughal Pura, Lahore.
Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore recovered 2.4 Kg Hashish from Mazhar Hussain, resident of Lahore, who was arrested while travelling on a motorcycle near Gourmet Bakers, Liaqat Chowk, Main Bouleward, Sabzazar, Lahore.
In fourth operation, ANF Lahore recovered 170 Gram Heroin from a drug peddler namely Khushi Muhammad, resident of Gujranwala who was arrested from Rehman Colony, Gujranwala.—APP
