ANF seizes 6.6 tons of narcotics, arrest 7 drugs smugglers

Islamabad—The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) in six countrywide operations at Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Mianwali, Peshawar and Qilla Abdullah recovered 6.634 tons of drugs, comprising 6.626 ton hashish, 7.1 kilogram heroin, 915 gram Ice and 10 ecstasy tablets, along with recovery of 2 rifles and 1 pistol.
During the operations, tge ANF arrested seven drug smugglers and impounded two vehicles. The worth of the seized drugs amounts to Rs 4.089 billion in international market.
According to details, ANF Lahore while carrying out intelligence led operation, raided a godown in Al-Aziz Plaza, Main Market, Sambrial, Sialkot, resulting in seizure of 1280.2 Kg Hashish along with a 44 bore rifle, 1 magazine and 6 live rounds. In another operation, ANF arrested a drug supplier namely Abdul Razzaq and recovered 4 Kg Hashish from his personal possession. He was arrested at Multan Muzaffargarh Road near Mianwali City.
The ANF Quetta in a successful intelligence led operation seized 5.342 Tons of Hashish. The drug was concealed at an uninhabited site located in mountainous area of Kaley Suleman Khel, tehsil Gulistan, district Qilla Abdullah. As per preliminary reports, the drug was placed at a cache site for handing over to another narcotics gang.
ANF Rawalpindi on pursuance of information raided a house located in Akal Garh, Rawalpindi and arrested a local drug peddler along with 1.5 Kg Heroin.
On information the arrested accused, ANF raided a house situated at Mohallah Islampura, Rawalpindi.
The culprits present inside the house opened indiscriminate firing at ANF raiding party. However, ANF Raiding Team succeeded to enter the house after little resistance, and arrested 2 drug suppliers along with 5.6 Kg Heroin, 1 SMG and 1 Pistol. —INP
