ANF recovers drugs worth Rs782m

Islamabad—In 21 countrywide strikes, ANF seized 236 kg drugs worth Rs 782 million in international market. The seized drugs comprised 53 Kg Heroin, 180 Kg Morphine, 77 Kg Opium, 26 Kg Hashish and 1.2 Kg Amphetamine, a press release issued here Thursday said.
The operations also resulted in arrest of 25 persons involved in drug smuggling to students and confiscated 5 vehicles. According to details, ANF Quetta seized 180 Kg Morphine while carrying out an intelligence led operation at Chagi, Morphine was concealed at a deserted house located in general area Maskhel, District Chaghi.
As per reports, drug was to be handed over to some other narcotics gang for smuggling to some unidentified location. In another intelligence led operation, ANF Quetta intercepted a truck near Nalient, Coastal Highway, Gwadar and recovered 20 Kg Opium concealed inside the truck. An accused on board namely Karim Bux resident of Gawadar was also arrested during the operation. Yet in another intelligence led operation, ANF Quetta seized an unattended single cabin pick-up (without registration number) at Hoshab Road, Kech, Search of the vehicle led to seizure of 30 Kg Heroin concealed inside the vehicle.—APP
