Ambush from Afghanistan leaves soldier martyred, 3 wounded

As the naked aggression from across the Afghan border continued unabated, a group of Afghan militants launched yet another attack on Pakistan’s security forces check post in Lower Dir Thursday leaving at least one man in uniform martyred and some others seriously injured.
According to reports, unknown terrorists from the hostile ambush on Panahkot check post of the Pakistan army at Pak-Afghan border. “One soldier was killed while three others injured in the attack launched from across the border”. Officials said.
The security forces as the reports say assisted by the local people retaliated the attack and forced the militants to escape. The dead and injured troops were shifted to hospital for treatment. It could not be ascertained if there were casualties on part of the intruders. The militants from the neighboring Afghanistan, it may be recalled, have been crossing into Pakistani territory often in Dir district for the last many years and launching attacks on the troops as well as the civilian population during this period many people both civilians and troops were martyred though effective retaliation from the valiant security forces also killed many intruders.
The Military authorities as well as the Pakistani government have been loading strong protest with the Afghan government over such incidents lodging asking them to check the ambushes launched by the miscreants from their safe heavens inside Afghanistan but the Kabul government paid no heed to the this serious and continued violation of the territorial integrity of neighbour Pakistan.
