Aliens to be held, deported: Nisar

Islamabad—Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Monday said that the people holding fake National Identity Cards and residing illegally in Pakistan would be arrested, deported and sent to jail after August 31. “Cases will be registered against those illegally living the country and they will be sent to prison for 14 years,” he said . Addressing a news conference at the Punjab House, he reviewed campaign against fake National Identity Cards.
Nisar said that more than 23, 000 fake ID cards have been identified while 2, 24, 000 cards have been verified during the first month of the campaign. He announced a reward worth Rs10, 000 for identifying aliens in Pakistan. The interior minister announced the first phase of CNIC verification campaign had successfully been completed. “Around 2.6 million people have verified their CNICs to the National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) during a period of one month,” he claimed.
