Aggression, ignorance hurdles in establishment of peace: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the purpose to celebrate International Day of Peace was to sensitise people about the importance and need of peace in the society.
In his message issued here on Wednesday in connection with International Day of Peace, he said that love and affection was the basic injunction of Islam.
He said, on this day, a rich tribute must be paid to all those who had sacrificed their lives for peace.
However, injustice, ignorance, deprivation, aggression and aggressive designs were the major hurdles in the establishment of peace, he added.
He said, “Pakistan is playing a heralding role in the efforts of establishing global peace and harmony and PML-N government is pursuing the effective policy of eliminating terrorism and fanaticism”.
He said that the menace of terrorism would be totally eliminated with the power of unity from the society.
Shahbaz Sharif said the Punjab government had made the punishments further strict by making necessary amendments in the relevant laws to eliminate the fanaticism.
He said the Punjab government was also credited for the establishment of pioneering and highly trained anti terrorism force and it was playing an important role for the establishment of peace and elimination of terrorism from the province.
As a result of sincere and committed efforts of the government, Pakistan of today was more secure and peaceful than ever before, he added.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated the team of doctors as well as the hospital administration for successfully conducting the first bone marrow transplant in the Children’s Hospital & the Institute of Child Health, Lahore. He said that the successful conducting of first bone marrow transplant in any of the public sector hospitals in Pakistan is a big achievement.
