Advisor cancels holidays of dengue officials on Eid

Rawalpindi—Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khawja Salman Rafiq on Thursday cancelled Eid holidays of dengue officials including doctors ,nursing staff and members of surveillance teams as cases of dengue patients is increasing in the city.
Chairing a meeting to review anti-dengue arrangements ,he said that Chief Minister Punjab has sent me to Rawalpindi to identify the cause of increasing number of dengue patients.He said the provincial government has provided latest equipment to ensure proper treatment of dengue patients.
He directed the concerned that surveillance activities or tracing of larva and its eradication be expedited besides focusing on hotspots where from dengue cases are being reported and pay full attention to areas where from larva has been detected during current checking.
Meanwhile District Coordination Officer(DCO)Talat Mehmood Gondal briefed the meeting that around 50 patients have been brought to Allied hospital including 6 from Azad Kashmir,4 from Haripur ,5 from Islamabad and others from the adjoining areas of Rawalpindi while 34 were discharged after recovery.
He said Sixteen patients are admitted in the Allied hospitals.—APP
