IHCBA ex-president condemns irresponsible statement
Islamabad—Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan (ASC) former PML-N candidate from NA-48 Islamabad, and founder President of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) Ashraf Gujjar has taken strong exception to a recent statement during an interview in Kabul by senior Parliamentarian Mahmood Khan Achakzai in which Achakzai claimed the present Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is originally part of Afghanistan.
Regretting such a controversial statement by a senior parliamentarian who is part of the alliance with the government in the centre and the province (Balochistan) and whose brother is currently governor of Balochistan, Ch Ashraf Gujjar said by issuing such a controversial, immature and irresponsible statement Mahmood Achakzai has served the interest of the anti-Pakistan forces. The statement is neither in the interest of the country nor is reflective of the statesmanship one usually expects from a politician of his caliber, says the statement of Chaudhry Ashraf Gujjar.
“Mahmood Khan Achakzai should not forget that one of his brothers presently serving as Governor of Balochistan and many of his relatives are enjoying government service along with perks and privileges,” says Gujjar in his statement. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is an integral part of Pakistan and has never been part of Afghanistan, said Ashraf Gujjar in his statement. “Rather in the near and far past, the region known as Afghanistan was governed either from Peshawar or Taxila,” said Gujjar. Mahmood Khan Achakzai should not try to distort history and keep the facts in mind before issuing such an irresponsible statement.
Referring to the political ideology of Abdul Samad Achakzai, father of Mahmood Achakzai, Ch Ashraf Gujjar said Abdul Samad Achakzai was a follower of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and always took pride in the fact that he practised and preached Gandhism. In fact, Mahmood Achakzai was known as “Baloch Gandhi” and he took pride in that. Chaudhry Ashraf Gujjar Advocate said Mahmood Achakzai enjoyed all the perks and privileges but his loyalties to Pakistan have always been doubtful.
