Abid Sher opens 132KV grid station, govt focusing on laying new transmission lines

chenab nagar—State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Saturday inaugurated a grid station of 132-KV in Chenab Nagar. Addressing a gathering, he said another project, 220-KV Lalian grid station, would also start functioning in the next year.
Abid Sher said the government had started a number of power projects which would help overcome energy shortage till 2018. He added that not a single unit was added to the national grid by the previous governments. The minister said the government had connected provinces with motorways which would raise living standard of the people besides providing them with basic facilities of life.
The minister said the PML-N government would win the next general elections due to its people-welfare polices.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan was creating hindrances in the way of progress and prosperity of the country. Faisalabad: Outspoken junior water and power ministry Abid Sher Ali on Saturday branded PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his close companions a gang of robbers. ‘Imran Khan is a munshi (secretary) of Jahangir Khan Tarin,’ Abid Sher Ali told media in Faisalabad, a couple of day after he was rebuked by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for making provocative remarks about his political rivals, including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. ‘In the coming days, they (PTI leaders) will have to hide their faces, but they will find no place to hide,’ he said.
The state minister urged Imran Khan to present evidence he claimed to have regarding offshore holdings of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family. Ali urged the Supreme Court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Imran Khan for saying he had already won his case in the apex court. He said that Imran Khan’s lie was caught and God willing the people of Pakistan would blacken the faces of PTI Chairman and Sheikh Rashid. To a question, he said that PML-N would bag 80 percent of the seats in Sindh in the next general elections. —Agencies
