Thikriwala police have recovered an abducted child and arrested three alleged kidnappers including a woman along with the ransom money. Police spokesman said here Friday that 7-year-old Arsalan, son of Mudassar Abbas of Chak No 245-RB, went missing on Sept 24.
Meanwhile, kidnappers informed the family about abduction of the child and demanded Rs5 lakh as ransom for his release. Later on, the kidnappers agreed on freeing the child for Rs 2.5 lakh. When the kidnappers were receiving the money, the police got hold of them. The accused were identified as Danish, son of Iqbal Joiya of Chak No 246-RB, and Faisal Rias, son of Mehr Riaz Hussain of Chak No 245-RB.
On their pointation, the police safely recovered the abducted boy from a house in Chak No 67-JB and also arrested a lady Shakeela Bibi, wife of Mehr Muhammad Asghar of Sialkot. Further investigation is under way. Investigation Police Sadar Division smashed 22 criminal gangs and arrested their 51 members besides recovering items worth Rs42 million during the last three months.
The police sources said that the police also presented 480 challans of murder, attempt murder, dacoity and other heinous crimes to courts.
As many as 207 proclaimed offenders and 169 court absconders were arrested during the same period.
