The Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) alongwith 70 allied industries workers and Karachi Chamber of commerce and Industry (KCCI) after staging Sit-in (Dharna) managed to get approval from Managing Director Water board, according to the details received. MD water board has agreed to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) within a week to resume construction work of hundreds of the projects in Metropolis.
The Association of Builders and Developers staged protest demonstration and sit-in on Thursday against the ban imposed on water connections for new buildings.
The members of Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) and other stakeholders protested at Water Board office and blocked main Shahra-e-Faisal to register their protest.Hussain Bakhshi, Chairman, ABAD said that Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) had completely banned the new connection for multi-storey buildings.
“The permission has been granted by water commission constituted by Supreme Court of Pakistan for six-story buildings,” he said. However, it is subject to permission from water and other authorities, he added.
