‘Aabro-e-Maa’ book launching ceremony at RAC

Rawalpindi—The heavily attended launch of Shahid Jamil Minhas’s collection of columns, “Aabro-e-Maa”, at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Wednesday was an insightful journey into his early years as a journalist to his rise and encompassing social, economic, political and other burning issues.
Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Finance, Rana Muhammad Afzal was the chief guest at the book launch which was also presided over by senior poet Muhammad Izhar ul Haq while Nadeem Sheraz Khan was guest of honor.
Apart from his achievements as a journalist, his humanistic qualities were also talked about in detail.
In his keynote address, Federal Parliamentary Secretary Rana Muhammad Afzal said although he wrote on many important topics during the course of his career yet the most important is writing of political instability in the country overwhelming all other matters.
Muhammad Izhar ul Haq said Shahid Jamil Minhas power of writing columns is very impressive.
Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed also praised Shahid Jamil Minhas as a proponent of peace and harmony, who believed in non-violence and in the tenets of democracy.
Ali Asghar Samar welcoming the audience said patriotism reflected in his columns.
Dr Farhat Abbas, Farkhanda Shamim, Shamim Javed, Mehmooda Ghazia, Syed Shabaat Ali, Saror Anbalwi and others also addressed the launching ceremony and threw light on life and work of Shahid Jamil Minhas.—APP
