920 notices served to illegal water consumers

Rawalpindi—Chaklala Cantonment Board CCB Rawalpindi has served 920 notices to the illegal water consumers, informed Superintendent Revenue Muhammad Saddique.
He said that the civic body had already embarked upon massive awareness drive to legalize their water connections, now “ We have launched crack down on unauthorised connections and nearly 920 notices have been served in this regard”. He categorically said that teams have been constituted to cut off the illegal water connections who have no proper documentation in the Cantonment jurisdiction.
“Efforts are also being made to plug leakages in water distribution system of the civic body, he added”. He said that Rs 20 million has been recovered from the water consumers while the set target Rs 50 million would be achieved during the fiscal year 2016-17. He said that the process of recoveries would be expedited further to meet the annual target. He told that illegal signboards have been removed to keep the Cantonment clean.
He said that strict action is being taken against the violators according to law besides their belonging would be confiscated.
On the directives of Chief Executive Officer CCB Rana Rafiq, all the operations including house taxes, property taxes has been speeded up to generate the income besides carrying mega development projects for the betterment of the people of the Cantonment.—APP
