7th convocation of University of Lahore held

Provincial Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani has said conducive atmosphere has been provided to higher education institutions in the private sector to promote the culture of quality education and learning in these institutions. With the passage of time, both public and private sectors have emerged as partners in education promotion, who supplement each other.
He was addressing the 7th convocation of a private sector university (University of Lahore, Lahore) at Raiwind Road on Tuesday. Raza Gillani said that educational institutions bear a profound responsibility to help increase awareness, knowledge and social values needed to create a just and sustainable future. Higher education plays important role in making this vision a reality, he added. Education is a process through which a nation develops its self-consciousness by developing the individuals who compose it. He said that educational development is a precondition of technological change. The investments made in education accelerate the national economic growth, he further said.
The Higher Education Minister said that universities are our intellectual asset, and added that full governmental support is provided to them to improve and enhance their overall standards. Highly educated and trained human resource is needed to fully grasp the fruits of CPEC as the government is working day and night for bright economic future of Pakistan. Later, he distributed degrees and medals in the students.
