64 dangerous U-turns abolished

Lahore—As many as 64 improper and dangerous U-turns have completely been abolished on the national highway in the last two months.
In the Okara sector, 33, Multan sector, 28 and in Rahim Yar Khan sector, three U-turns have been closed by the Motorway Police Central Zone.This was revealed by DIG Mirza Faran Baig during an awareness campaign regarding the use of U-turns, here on Sunday.
The Central Zone gave a briefing to users of 10,672 public service vehicles, 11,072 heavy transport vehicles, 10,127 light transport vehicles and 14,091 motorcyclists regarding awareness about taking U-turns carelessly by the road users.
Mirza Faran Baig told the beat commanders to ensure proper briefing to drivers about the U-turns.
The briefing sessions would be carried out at the roadside hotels, patrol pumps, movie points, bus stands and on national highways.—APP
