6 killed in rain-related incidents

Four members of a family including women lost their lives when a car heading towards Dera fell into a deep ravine due to over speeding and heavy rain in Dhana Sar area on Zhob-D.I Khan highway here on Wednesday. According to levies sources, the family of Khuda-e-Dad Kharoty was heading towards Dera Ismail Khan from Zhob. As the vehicle approached the mountainous Dhana Sar area, it went out of the control and fell into deep ravine.
Resultantly, Khuda-e-Dad, his brother Siraj-ud-Din and two women died on the spot, while two children sustained serious injuries. The eyewitnesses in the area said the incident happened due over speeding and the slippery road. The local people rushed to the scene and retrieved the bodies and injured from the ravine.
They have been moved to DHQ civil hospital Zhob. Meanwhile, a woman and her child died when a roof of their mud-house collapsed during a heavy rain in Surwaki area of Sherani district. Two women and a child also injured in the incident. People of the village rushed to rescue the ill-fated family, removed the debris and retrieved the injured.
They said the house was in a dilapidated condition and the roof might have been damaged due to the recent heavy rains. Recently, ten people including women and children had died and twelve others had sustained serious injuries when a passenger flying-coach heading to Drazinda bazaar skidded-off the road and plunge into a gorge. As a result, ten passengers had killed while twelve others injured seriously. Women and children were among the dead and injured.
