5,60,000 sapling to be planted in city


About 5,60,000 saplings would be planted in Rawalpindi during current spring tree plantation campaign 2017.
Conservator of Forests Rawalpindi Region, Athar Shah said all-out efforts were being made to Pant maximum saplings with the help and cooperation of civil society, defence and health dept. as well as educational institutions during the campaign.
“To achieve the set target, he said special instructions had been given to all DFOs to make the campaign successful.”
He said a comprehensive plan of massive tree plantation had been evolved to bring maximum area under forest cover which was the basic requirement to overcome environmental degradation.—APP
