511 cases registered against irrigation water pilferers

Irrigation Department Hafizabad got registered 511 cases against landlords of the district on the charges of pilfering of irrigational water during crackdown launched to prevent water theft with different police stations of the district while 27 fertilizer dealers were booked on the charges of selling spurious fertilizers and pesticides in the district during the special campaign against sale of substandard fertilizer and pesticides.
This was stated by Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension), Maher Rab Nawaz in the meeting of District Agriculture Advisory Committee held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad. AD (Revenue) Allah Ditta Waraich, representatives of Kisan Board and other members of the committee attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that 5007 small farmers owns up to 12.5 acre of land have been registered so far in the district against fixed target of 7300 while first installment of interest free loan have been released to 448 small farmers in the district Hafizabad so far through different banks under unmatched and historic Kisan Pacakge of one hundred billion of rupees.
