500 KV New Gakhar-Lahore Circuit-II transmission line energized

Lahore—National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has energized 500 KV New Gakhar-Lahore Circuit-II transmission line at 2:36 pm on Friday after rehabilitation of 8 collapsed towers along with installation of Optical Fiber Ground Wire (OPGW).
Tower No 37 to 44 were damaged due to heavy rains and storms occured July 5-6 night about 90 kilometers away from Lahore near Hafizabad, says a press release issued here by NTDC, WAPDA house Lahore.
NTDC Engineers started the rehabilitation work of damaged pylons on (July 5) and completed the task of Assembling, Erecting, Stringing and Energizing of 500 KV transmission line in 23 days, which was an uphill task for NTDC staff and its engineers.
While working on stringing and erection of towers with cranes and tractors made the approach difficult due to heavy monsoon rains.—APP
