Sanaullah Samad

The news of Abdul Sattar Edhi’s death was disheartening for me. Edhi was the real manifestation of love for those who were socially helpless, poor, impoverished and vulnerable. Edhi was always ready to pick up the children and other orphanage and feed them. He never thought about himself and slept in windowless room with just a bed, a sink and a hotplate.
The first clinic of Edhi foundation was opened in 1951 for the protection of helpless people in the country. Now Edhi foundation is having 5,700 people in 17 shelters across the country and from them abandoned children and the elderly, battered women, the disabled and drug addicts are present and passing their lives in Edhi foundation. Most importantly 1,500 ambulances are freely working in entire Pakistan. The whole nation pay tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi and he will be alive in the heart of people of Pakistan forever.
