29 held in ANF operations

Rawalpindi—Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) in 28 operations has arrested 29 drug suppliers while striking at Islamabad, Attock, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Kohat, Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Quetta and Kech. ANF teams also recovered huge quantity of heroin, hashish and opium and seized five vehicles in its operations conducted under anti drug drive started on April 13.
ANF has conducted total 56 operations during April while drugs worth Rs 84.14 billion were recovered and 60 drug peddlers were sent behind the bars. According to details, ANF Rawalpindi conducted an information based raid near CDA Chowk, main IJP Road, Islamabad and arrested a local drug supplier and recovered 700 grams heroin.
A team also recovered 1.2 kg hashish during an operation carried out at Shaheed Fahim Abbas Naqvi Chowk, Safe CNG Station, Attock City and arrested an accused namely Sardar Muhammad resident of Attock. ANF Rawalpindi carried out an information based operation and intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car registration no. LEE-5371 and a motorcycle registration no. CHK-1262 at Attock City and recovered 1.1 kg heroin. Two persons were also rounded up.
ANF Rawalpindi also recovered 190 grams heroin from a parcel being sent to Canada from DHL Courier Service Islamabad Office. The team conducted an information based raid near Chungi No. 26, GT Road, Rawalpindi and recovered one kg opium and one kg hashish from the possession of a lady smuggler.
ANF Rawalpindi also recovered 3.6 kg hashish, 1.235 kg heroin, one kg heroin, 500 grams heroin and 250 grams heroin from the possession of drug peddlers who have been sent behind the bars.— APP
