279,274 vehicles challaned for traffic rules violations

Lahore—The City Traffic Police (CTP) have taken action against 279,274 vehicles on inapropriate number plates and without registration during a crackdown in the current year.
Chief Traffic Officer Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said that additional traffic wardens have been deployed in city to maintain traffic flow on roads and facilitate people.
The CTO directed the SPs and DSPs to conduct patrolling to make the crackdown a success and review the traffic arrangements in city to avoid traffic mess during peak hours. He said that traffic officials have been directed to put in place special measures against traffic violations including wrong and illegal parking, inappropriate number-plates, encroachment and other violations
