Karachi—The 24th Palmolive Sindh Women’s Swimming Championship concluded at Karachi Gymkhana here. This competition was organised by the Karachi Women’s Swimming Association (KWSA) and sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive (Pakistan) Limited.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Ms Sarwat Gilani Mirza, a social worker, a renowned actress and ambassador of Special Olympics Pakistan, as a chief guest.
The chief guest was not only impressed by the performance of the participants, but also applauded KWSA for their continuous efforts to promote women sports in Pakistan. Zulfiqar Lakhani, MD of Colgate-Palmolive (Pakistan) Ltd, was also present on the occasion.
The success of this two-day event was due to participation of highly competitive and enthusiastic swimmers. In all, 207 children and 12 institutions took part, and set new standards of record-breaking excellence through excellent sportsmanship, setting the bar high for the next year.
