21 public transport vehicles impounded

Rawalpindi—Regional Transport Authority RTA in its task of implementing new fares, impounded 21 public service vehicles not implementing the new fares.
The action was taken on a large number of complaints by passengers.
Secretary RTA, Awais Manzoor Tarar has constituted teams to impound vehicles which are charging higher fares.
The Secretary said that strict action would be taken against those involved in cheating the public and their vehicles would be impounded besides imposing fines.
Meanwhile the city traffic police have set up teams against transporters who are not implementing the new fares and the citizens can contact helpline 1915 and 051-9272616 for lodging complaints.—APP
