Staff Reporter
Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh on Information, Law & Anti-corruption, Barrister Murtaza Wahab has slammed MQM Pakistan leadership for their unnecessary apprehensions with regard to dividing Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) into two parts, adding that there was no such proposal under consideration at any level, therefore all these insinuations are frivolous and uncalled for.
The advisor said this while talking to media persons at Sindh Assembly’s media corner on Friday. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said PPP never believed in discrimination on language or any other consideration.
He said that MQM Pakistan had always said that Sindh was their motherland and they did not want its division. He said that it would have been much better that MQM Pakistan leadership should have checked facts and contradictions issued by the government of Sindh in this regard.
He said that we have to fight collectively for the cause of Sindh and present the case of Sindh for NFC, water, gas and electricity before the federal government as three parties PTI, MQM and GDA sitting in Sindh Assembly were also part of federal government.
He said that people of district West has sent proposal to Sindh government for realignment of district which was under consideration and added that yet no decision had been taken on the matter. The Advisor categorically contradicted that KMC was being bifurcated and added that MQM Pakistan should strictly desist to spread such rumors.
The Advisor said that politics of divide was not in favor of Sindh’s interests and mandate of people of the province. We all have to be united to safeguard the rights of the people of Sindh. Commenting on the decision of Banking Court, he said that they were not surprised with decision as they were mentally prepared. He said that PPP would repeatedly place its principal stance before the people of Pakistan.
‘If there is rule of law and supremacy of constitution then why dual standards only with Pakistan Peoples Party’, he said and added that it is defined in law that if any violation of law occurred in any city, it will be investigated by relevant authorities of same city where it occurred and cases to be filed in jurisdiction of same city, district or provincial courts.
He said that privilous story of fake accounts has been created against Pakistan Peoples Party and all accounts are in Karachi why its investigation is shifted to Islamabad and cases to be filed in Islamabad. It is against the spirit of law. According to Advisor, it is clear discrimination added that we had faced that situation in the past and they would continue to record their protest against dual standards.
Regarding standing committees of Sindh Assembly, he said that they have decided to hold polls for standing committees and said that schedule of polls would be announced in the evening today.
